Electric Lockers

Eaton E-locker
The Eaton E-Locker uses a switch operated electromagnet to create friction with an armature, forcing ball bearings to ramp up and push locking pins into the back of a side gear, locking the differential. The E-Locker is an open differential when not engaged. The E-Locker comes complete with the wiring harness and switch. The E-Locker is currently available for the 8.5" GM, 9.25" GM, 9.5" GM and 8.8" Ford differentials.

Detroit Electrac
The Electrac uses a switch operated motor that turns a screw plunger to activate a shift fork, tabbed lock ring, and a sprag type device that locks the differential. The motor and screw are in a small housing attached to the cover. The Electrac uses helical side gears to operate as a limited slip differential (like the Detroit Truetrac) while not locked in. The unit comes complete with the wiring harness, switch and cover. The Electrac is currently available for Dana 44 and Dana 60 differentials.

Auburn Ected
The Auburn Gear Ected uses a switch operated electromagnetic ring retained under one of the bearing caps inside the differential housing. The ring activates a pilot cone that causes bearing balls to ramp up against the side gear and lock up the differential. The Ected can be switched on or off on the fly. While not engaged the Ected is a clutch driven limited slip differential. The unit comes complete with a wiring harness, rubber grommet for the cover tap, solenoid unit and switch. The Ected is currently available for the 8.5 GM and 8.8 Ford differentials.
